Chemical Communications Symposium Poster Prize for Gemma

Congratulations to Gemma Gransbury on winning the first place poster prize at the Chemical Communications “Chemistry for Global Challenges” Symposium at RMIT.  Gemma is pictured with Philippa Ross (Executive Editor of Chemical Communications, Chemical Society Reviews and Faraday Transaction) and Sarmi Munuganti from Monash University, who won the runner-up prize.

 


Inorganic Chemistry paper for Gemma

Congratulations to Gemma on the publication of the first article from her PhD: “DFT prediction and experimental investigation of valence tautomerism in cobalt-dioxolene complexes”, in Inorganic Chemistry (doi:  10.1021/acs.inorgchem.8b03291)  This work was performed in collaboration with scientists from the Australian National University and the University of Florence.


Welcome Vincent!

The Boskovic Group warmly welcomes new undergraduate student Vincent Nadurata.  Vincent is joining us for semester 1 to undertake research involving the preparation and lanthanoid single-molecule magnets and analogues for inelastic neutron scattering studies.




Gemma Gransbury Wins Best Poster Prize at ICMM

Congratulations to  Gemma Gransbury on winning a  prize for best poster at the International Conference on Molecule-based Magnets (ICMM2018) in Rio de Janeiro.  Gemma gave a flash presentation and poster on her PhD research: “Magnetic Exchange in a Cobalt-Semiquinonate Complex”. Gemma’s attendance at the conference was supported by a Postgraduate Travel Bursary from the Royal Australian Chemical Institute (RACI).
